Hello all- sorry it has been so long since my last entry! Hope your lives are going stellar- hope you all had wonderful holidays! That being said, I'm back, and going to submit another 5 beautiful words journal entry- however this one will only have four! I kept it at four, because I ended up writing a little extra for the paragraphs. I hope you enjoy, nonetheless. This one, like the other entries, will contain more words I enjoy- a mixture of word suggestions and my own findings. Analogous to the last entry, I will provide an abbreviated definition (from online dictionaries), and list what the word means to me. I will also include pronunciations, as added to the journal entry last time! The denotation will be presented first, followed by the personal connotation in the form of a short paragraph, as per usual. Feel free to submit your own paragraph in the comments below~

Have a fab day! Enjoy reading my entry! Sending positivity and sunshine and smiles and coffee and croissants your way.

1) Nefandous- not to be spoken of; unmentionable (nə̇ˈfandəs).
The girl slipped the hazel parcel into the trembling hands of the mailman. She whispered so softly that her words almost got swept into the grasp of the wind whirling around her, “take good care of this.” The mailman grasped the thin package firmly, nodding his head, although with hesitation- the angst in his countenance could not be ignored. He got inside his vehicle and drove for miles and miles: an array of classical tunes played lightly, replacing the angst in his mind and visage with quiescence. He stops at the front of a baby blue house and parks his vehicle near the curb. Each step grows quicker with anticipation as he approaches the brass knocker centered on the oak door. Knock Knock Knock. He hears steps shuffle from behind, and a blonde-haired lady greets him. “I’ve been anxiously awaiting your arrival,” she declares with a euphoric smile. He hands over the parcel, she thanks him amiably, wishes him the best on his drive home and closes the door. She takes no hesitation in cutting the package open to reveal an envelope addressed, “to you,” in clean calligraphy. She opens to see a letter in his writing, with one sentence written in the center: I’ll let you in on a secret darling- I love you, and it’s going to be okay. A tear trickles down her cheek, and she hugs the letter warmly. She whispers to herself, “I love you more than you could ever know.”

2) Stelliferous- having or abounding with stars; having star-shaped markings (stel·lif·er·ous \stə̇ˈlif(ə)rəs\).
It is 3am, and the sky seems to be an ocean of black ink- the kind of thick ink you use to write sentimental sentences in love letters. Although it is the middle of the night, the temperature is quite comfortable. The checkered blanket sprawled across the grass keeps him and I warm enough. I can also feel the warmth of my affection emanating off my body- I believe his is doing the same. “Let’s play a game,” I propose. He agrees in his soft voice without inquiring the rules of the game. “Let’s find pictures in this celestial sky of constellations.” We go back and forth naming various shapes and animals and designs that can be found in the scintillating stars- the fairy lights of the night. It’s my turn again, and this time I scan for an extended period of time. I finally break the silence, “Awe, I found a picture that contains the entire night sky.” He seems puzzled. “Your smile.” We laugh, and I proceed to get a better look at that smile that shines like the entire night sky.

3) Jejune- not interesting; too simple (ji-ˈjün).
She picked at the nail polish on her fingernails that was already beginning to chip- a small mound of red flakings gathered on the center of her desk. She heard a boy and a girl whispering behind her- they were figuring out how to sneak out this weekend to meet up. The girl picking nail polish rolled her eyes, uninterested in the puppy dog love that would surely deteriorate because of a petty fight or unanswered text message in due time. The boy to the right was jotting fervently- he must actually be listening to what the professor was saying. The girl to the left was staring at the ceiling- she must be counting the tiles above- I wanted to tell her the answer is 36. Been there, done that. The girl continued to pick at her nail polish, and began to count, making a hash mark on her paper every time she reached 60 seconds. She continued picking at her nail polish: suddenly a crimson rivulet runs down the side of her finger, almost matching the pile of flakes agglomerated on her desk. “Dr. Hanson, I need to see the nurse’s.” School’s a drag.

4) Rodomontade- a bragging speech; vain boasting (ˌrä-də-mən-ˈtād, ˌrō-, -ˈtäd). .
Two men stand facing each other in a quiet room. 10 minutes. One draws out his sword- he is dressed in chain mail and wears a narcissistic expression. 9 minutes. The other man draws out a pen from his pocket. He is wearing a worn-out shirt and torn jeans. The other man laughs. 8 minutes. The man waves his sword in the air. The metal reflects off the fluorescents. 7 minutes. The man begins writing on his hand- the chicken-scratch calligraphy is ineligible to the man with the sword. 6 minutes. The man with the sword takes confident steps forward. 5 minutes. The man in rags takes soft steps backward- now almost against the wall. 4 minutes. The knight mocks the man in rags. He says he will never be a warrior dressed like that. 3 minutes. The man with the pen is glancing down at his hand- he takes a second to write a bit more in between his wrinkled skin. 2 minutes. The knight apologizes for what he must do, but cannot help but laugh. He states, “if only you could be as great as me.” 1 minute. The man with the pen keeps his humble expression- unphased by the knight’s boastful words. 0 minutes. The knight goes to lunge forward, the man throws his pen at his feet. The knight trips and falls- the sword skids across the room to the man in rags. He turns his hand to the knight lying on the floor. His hand reads, “the pen is mightier than the sword.” The humble man exits the room unscathed: now wearing a humble coat of honor.
